Getting Kids in

Pairs

I have the class line up across the library in order by their birthday. The catch is, they
can't talk when getting in line. So they mime and hold up fingers and get confused and have
to work together. Then I just count off the first two as partners, next two, etc. This works with
fourth grade and up. (Catherine Trinkle)

We are always practicing ABC order in the library, so students line up by first name or last name
alphabetically. Now comes the catchy part! You pair the first person in line with the last person
in line and off they go! Once again, first person in line, last person in line, off they go. Keep
doing this until all have a partner!
